A Refreshing Take on Digital Media

Introduction to a Unique Documentary

Usually, movies in regards to the modern digital media, the web, and social media are likely to fall flat because many movies either don’t understand how the web works and the way the trendy media age functions. Very few movies, like Searching, Feels Good Man, and The Mitchells vs. The Machines, actually understand how the web works and the way modern digital media operates. Director Joe Hunting clearly knows how VR works, and this documentary did surprise me.

The Documentary’s Unique Approach

Filled entirely contained in the VRChat platform, it never once felt boring or uninteresting as there have been many alternative and interesting discussions about how individuals are capable of connect with one another through virtual worlds. Especially in the course of the pandemic, and the way it had a significant impact on certain individuals. Hunting was capable of capture the realism about how people go on their days through VR and he was capable of bring many interesting insights about this topic.

Technical Aspects and Improvements

It’s definitely not an ideal documentary, as there have been some technical moments that could possibly be improved throughout, and it did feel a bit too long. About 10 or quarter-hour of the film might have been trimmed to make it more concise and interesting.

Relatability and Recommendations

I imagine even when you didn’t grow up through the web years or digital years, you’ll still give you the option to get something out of this documentary. Being someone who grew up with the web surrounding me, I used to be capable of connect with the movie personally. I like to recommend this documentary and look ahead to seeing what director Joe Hunting will do in the long run.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this documentary is a must-watch for anyone considering the impact of digital media on our lives. With its unique approach and insightful discussions, it offers a fresh perspective on how people connect with one another through virtual worlds. While it could have some technical flaws, the documentary’s strengths outweigh its weaknesses, making it a compelling watch.
