Harrods Introduces Multisensory Virtual Reality Experience with Xydrobe
Harrods, the iconic British department store in Knightsbridge, is set to unveil a groundbreaking multisensory virtual reality (VR) experience in collaboration with entertainment platform Xydrobe. This innovative venture will transport guests into the enchanting world of Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin’s luxury timepieces.
Scheduled to launch on June 19, the VR experience promises a 10-minute immersive journey through the intricate craftsmanship of Vacheron Constantin and a celebration of Harrods’ 175-year legacy. This unique experience will be housed on the fifth floor of Harrods and will be the first 20-person VR cinema from Xydrobe.
What sets this VR experience apart is its use of advanced 4D technology, which incorporates elements like sight, smell, feel, and sound to create a truly immersive experience. Guests will feel like protagonists in a virtual adventure as they explore surreal spaces and hidden corners of both Vacheron Constantin and Harrods.
In addition to the VR experience, guests will also have the opportunity to visit the Harrods x Vacheron Constantin exhibition and enjoy a guided tour of special timepieces. Tickets can be booked online, and all participants must be at least 16 years old.
To mark the launch of this exciting collaboration, Vacheron Constantin has created a special haute horlogerie creation exclusively for Harrods. Guests can also pick up a free limited-edition poster zine on the Fifth Floor and at select locations in London.
