New Balance and Snap Launch AR-Powered Holiday Gifting Concierge
New Balance and Snap have teamed up to introduce a new lens that combines augmented reality and speech-recognition technology to provide users with personalized gift recommendations for the holiday season. The Holiday Gifting Concierge lens allows users to answer questions about their gift recipient using Snap’s VoiceML technology, helping them select the perfect gift across footwear, apparel, and accessories. Additionally, the lens offers an AR unboxing experience in worldview mode, showcasing a recommendation in a unique and interactive way.
AR-powered shopping experiences have been gaining popularity among brands this holiday season, with New Balance’s collaboration with Snap being just one example. Amazon Fashion, American Eagle, and even Disney have all utilized Snapchat’s AR capabilities to enhance their holiday marketing campaigns. According to research commissioned by Snap, more than 100 million consumers worldwide are using AR while shopping online and in-store this year, with 80% of shoppers feeling more confident about their purchases when incorporating AR into their shopping journey.
Sharon Silverstein, head of U.S. Verticals at Snap Inc., emphasized the importance of providing consumers with engaging and useful touchpoints for holiday shopping, especially as online and mobile shopping continue to grow in popularity. The Gift Concierge feature will be available exclusively in the United States on iOS and Android platforms until December 31st, offering users a fun and interactive way to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones this holiday season.
