Inspace Exhibition at Alliance Francaise: Augmented Reality Paintings Tell the Tale of Hyderabad
The intersection of art and technology has never been more captivating than in the ongoing exhibition at Alliance Francaise, Delhi. Titled Inspace, the exhibition by French-Belgian artist Beatrice de Fays, aka B2Fays, takes viewers on a journey through augmented reality storytelling.
With 12 paintings on display, each telling the tale of a woman in Hyderabad, de Fays brings to life the ruggedness, history, and beauty of the granite rocks that she feels a deep connection with. Through the in.space app, viewers can scan the paintings to unlock a 3-D experience that adds a new dimension to the storytelling.
One of the standout pieces, titled Bouddha, showcases the transformation of a girl’s anger into peace, symbolized by the appearance of an imposing Buddha figure. This seamless blend of art and technology not only immerses viewers in the narrative but also allows de Fays to constantly evolve and change her paintings in the digital space.
The exhibition also features voice-overs by de Fays and Bari Kumar, augmented reality development by Guillaume Evrard, and music by Mathieu Constans, all working together to create a truly immersive experience for the audience.
Beyond the personal connection to Hyderabad, de Fays’ artworks also serve as a powerful reminder of the need for conservation, especially in the face of urbanization threatening the ancient granite rocks of the city.
Inspace is not just an exhibition; it’s a transformative experience that blurs the lines between art, technology, and storytelling, inviting viewers to explore the intersection of the ancient and the modern, the physical and the digital.
