Prospective teachers at Dominican University of California in San Rafael recently got a hands-on lesson in how to incorporate technology into their future classrooms. The workshop, led by XRMarin and XRLibraries, showcased the possibilities of virtual, augmented, and immersive technology in education.

During the event on March 22, students had the opportunity to try out apps and devices that could enhance K-12 learning experiences. From interactive textbooks to virtual field trips, the demonstration highlighted the ways in which augmented reality can revolutionize traditional teaching methods.

John MacLeod of XRLibraries emphasized the benefits of augmented reality in education, citing examples like interactive science experiments, language learning through real-world objects, and immersive history lessons. By making learning more interactive and relevant to students’ everyday lives, AR has the potential to enhance motivation and retention in the classroom.
