GE HealthCare and MediView XR Inc. Introduce OmnifyXR Interventional Suite at North Star Vascular and Interventional

GE HealthCare and MediView XR Inc. have made waves in the medical field with the successful first installation and clinical cases using the OmnifyXR Interventional Suite at North Star Vascular and Interventional in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

OmnifyXR is a cutting-edge augmented reality-based interventional radiology suite that revolutionizes the way medical imaging is utilized in procedures. The suite combines a holographic heads-up display streaming live medical imaging, 3D anatomy model visualization, and advanced imaging technologies to provide clinicians with a new level of insight and precision.

Dr. Jafar Golzarian, a renowned Professor of Radiology and founder of North Star Vascular and Interventional, performed the first two clinical procedures using OmnifyXR. Dr. Golzarian praised the capabilities of OmnifyXR, stating that the 3D anatomical view offered by the hologram scan provides new perspectives into treatment that were previously unseen.

One of the key features of OmnifyXR is the heads-up display (HUD) headset, which holographically displays multiple imaging video streams in a customizable way to improve ergonomics and workflow efficiency. Clinicians can customize the size, angle, and orientation of the video streams and use voice commands for hands-free interaction with the application.

In addition, OmnifyXR uses augmented visualization to help assess patient anatomies for intraprocedural planning. The system also allows for remote collaboration, consultation, training, and support, enabling users to share their holographic experience with colleagues from any location.

Dr. Amin Astani of North Star Vascular and Interventional expressed excitement about the potential of OmnifyXR, particularly in creating highly detailed 3D-generated models in a matter of minutes without compromising sterility during procedures. Dr. Astani highlighted the ability to virtually place the 3D model anywhere in the room, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation from different angles and perspectives.

OmnifyXR is currently available in the US, with plans for a global expansion. With its innovative features and potential to improve clinical and operational outcomes for both patients and clinicians, OmnifyXR is set to revolutionize the field of interventional radiology.
