With the brand new season of The Mandalorian, Google launched a brand new AR app that permits some Star Wars fans to mix with virtual characters between latest episodes.

That means you might have an Android smartphone. Check that … a 5G android smartphone.

The app is now available within the Google Play Store and brings the title character into its physical environment. The app is compatible with 5G pixel devices and other chosen 5G android devices from Samsung, LG, OnePlus, Motorola/Levovo, Oppo, Sharp, Sony and Xiomi.

The app delivers top quality 3D content (hence the 5G request) and uses the depth API from Arcore to realistically integrate content with its physical environment. Additional content debut every Monday (about Mando Mondays).

“To create this original experience, Google, Disney and Lucasfilm worked together to assume a next generation augmented reality app that was optimized for 5G devices,” said Matthieu Lorrain, head of creativity for AR partnerships on Google in a blog post. “Our teams have worked together to create hyperdailed models and lifelike animations-while packing scenes with funny surprises.”

Google has a story by which exclusive Star Wars AR content finally ends up and is split right into a limited audience. In a tie for the last Jedi, Google AR sticker (now referred to as Playmoji) made it available exclusively for pixel devices. Of course, Google is notorious regardless of recognition to kill products, and these AR stickers are one among these victims. Fittingly, even the playground -app, which Playmoji brings to Pixel Devices, has reduced support for Pixel 4a and later devices.

So for those who are one among the few Star Wars fans who can access the app, you need to step in to benefit from the experience before you’re gone.
