Tallaween: Ireland’s First Virtual Theme Park Coming to Tallaght Library

Ireland’s first ever virtual theme park, Tallaween, is set to kick off later this month outside the library in Tallaght, offering a unique multimedia experience for visitors. The spectacle will feature an augmented reality mobile game, video projections, a stunning laser light show, and a live performance.

At the heart of Tallaween is a bold re-imagining of Dante’s Inferno by playwright Niall Austin, featuring celebrated opera singer Claudia Boyle and emerging hip hop stars Fortune with singer Saibh. The event will take place at Parthalan Place outside Tallaght Library starting on Saturday, October 19, from 5.30pm and will continue every night from 5pm to 9pm until October 31.

One of the most exciting aspects of Tallaween is the opportunity for users to play games together on their mobile devices in real-time using augmented reality. Players will be able to engage with their surroundings and combat virtual ‘baddies’ in an immersive gaming experience.

The Red Line Book Festival, running from October 14-20, will also be hosting over 40 literary events in venues across south county Dublin, with Tallaween being one of the highlights of the festival. The event is a celebration of literature, storytelling, and creativity, appealing to people of all ages and interests.

Don’t miss out on this unique and exciting virtual theme park experience at Tallaween, where literature and technology come together to create a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience for all.
