Tech Writer Embarks on Global Tour to Connect with XR Community
Tech writer Tony, also known as the Skarredghost, is gearing up for an exciting six-week journey across the globe to engage with the XR (extended reality) community. Starting with a virtual fireside chat at Gatherverse alongside industry heavyweight Christopher LaFayette, Tony will delve into the future of XR technologies and what we can expect in the coming years.
Next on the agenda is the VRAR EXPO CHINA 2024 in Shanghai, where Tony will virtually join speakers from top companies like Pimax, Microsoft, and Rokid. Despite not being able to attend in person, Tony is eager to connect with attendees over WeChat or Linkedin for potential collaborations.
Following these virtual events, Tony will make his way to Helsinki for the XR Game Jam, offering support to young developers in creating XR games. The event will serve as a reunion with the Nordic XR scene, bringing together participants from Finland, Estonia, and Sweden.
In mid-June, Tony will jet off to the US for AWE, the premier XR event of the year, taking place in Long Beach, Los Angeles. With plans to explore Silicon Valley and meet industry friends, Tony is especially excited to finally meet Palmer Luckey in person.
After his US adventures, Tony will make a pitstop in Berlin to mentor at the XRCC hackathon, marking his first visit to the city. The hackathon promises to bring together top minds in the XR community for a collaborative and innovative experience.
Throughout his journey, Tony is on a mission to make new connections, visit top tech companies, try cutting-edge devices, and seek collaborations for his business. And of course, he’s always on the lookout for delicious potatoes along the way.
