Introduction to Virtual Reality at Marwell

Marwell is offering a novel experience for visitors, allowing them to explore the animal kingdom like never before. Using state-of-the-art headsets, visitors can rise up close and private with lots of the planet’s animals of their natural habitats. The First Film: A New Odyssey Around The World

The first film, A New Odyssey Around The World, takes visitors on a journey to witness evolution from the smallest ants to the mighty mountain gorilla and the large sperm whale. This experience runs until Sunday, August 10, giving visitors a limited time to explore the wonders of the natural world.

Upcoming Experiences

From Monday, August 11, to Sunday, September 7, the experience switches to The Savannah Cycle. This transports visitors to the Masai Mara and Serengeti National Parks in Kenya and Tanzania, providing an up-close take a look at giraffes, lions, elephants, and wildebeest of their savannah habitat. Later within the 12 months, visitors to Marwell’s Glow Marwell enchanted winter lights trail or its Christmas grotto in Grade 1 listed Marwell Hall can pre-book their VR experience, where they will meet polar bears, reindeer, and Arctic foxes, while learning in regards to the impact of climate change on their survival.

Practical Information

The VR experiences, suitable for ages five and above, run day by day between 10.30am and 3pm within the Giraffe House, costing £6 per person. Tickets are limited, so advance booking is really useful.
