Changes to Beat Saber Multiplayer for Oculus Quest Players
Attention all Beat Saber players on the original Oculus Quest! Starting November 2, 2024, you will no longer have access to the game’s multiplayer mode. Developer Beat Games has announced that they will be focusing their efforts on new projects within Beat Saber, leading to the removal of multiplayer support for Oculus Quest players.
For the past three years, players have enjoyed competing in friendly competition and slicing blocks alongside others in the multiplayer mode. This change will also affect the leaderboards for Oculus Quest players, potentially phasing them out as well.
However, there is still a way for Oculus Quest gamers to access Beat Saber multiplayer. By playing the game on a PC using the SteamVR or Oculus Rift versions, players can continue to enjoy the multiplayer experience.
Beat Saber has been a top-selling game for VR headsets, consistently ranking high on best-seller lists. With Meta phasing out the original Oculus Quest and focusing on newer models like the Meta Quest 3, support for older devices is dwindling. This move by Beat Games is just one example of the shifting landscape in the VR industry.
