This revolutionary approach is designed to assist students prepare for jobs within the industry and provides them a step up in the sphere. According to Frans Carlstrom, the Technology and Engineering Instructor and Workforce Coordinator for the Osseo-Fairchild School District, the goal is to introduce hands-on, real-life experiences for all students to present them a leg up as they enter the profession world. The school is partnering with Wolter Inc. to make use of virtual reality to point out students what it’s like operating a forklift. Noah Filla, a junior at Osseo-Fairchild High School, added, "Being critiqued for the mistakes you made but not having the implications of doing something bad, it makes learning quite a bit more fun and just a better method to do it."

The partnership between the Osseo-Fairchild School District and Wolter Inc. is a method to hopefully draw more people into the sphere. Tony Parsons, an Operator Training Manager at Wolter Inc., said, "We have essentially seen the challenge that industry goes to have about getting forklift drivers prepared. One of one of the best ways to do it’s to achieve those future forklift drivers in a spot where they’ll learn learn how to drive." The virtual reality training currently focuses on forklift driving, but Parsons hopes to expand and supply! other trainings to students in the longer term.
