SkyrimVR Streamer Upgrades Rig with Second Haptic Suit for Real-Life Pain Simulation

The SkyrimVR streamer GingasVR has once again pushed the boundaries of virtual reality immersion with her latest upgrade to her already impressive setup. After spending $15,000 on the most immersive VR rig possible, she has now added a second haptic suit that converts in-game damage into real-life pain.

GingasVR’s setup already included mods for improved item physics, body movements turning into in-game actions, and fans that match Skyrim’s actual weather. A haptic vest mimicked in-game sensations like eating food, but the new haptic feedback device takes things to a whole new level by shocking the player with electricity depending on what happens in the game.

In a recent update, GingasVR shared a video of herself twirling on the floor as a dragon sets her character on fire, describing the experience as “very painful.” The second haptic suit produces vibrations for less painful sensations, while fans simulate temperature changes during intense battles.

Despite the jaw-dropping immersion, the inclusion of an “OpenAI NPC with never-before-heard dialogue” slightly breaks the realism. However, GingasVR believes that this technology is a revolution in communication, allowing people to interact in ways never before possible.

With Skyrim VR reaching new heights with features like realistic dog petting, GingasVR’s dedication to creating the ultimate virtual reality experience is truly impressive. Stay tuned for more updates on her incredible VR adventures.
