The Experience

Body tracking technology allows players to interact inside the space and with one another.
Facility Details
The facility is Ireland’s first to feature a robotic bartender, Toni, created by Italian design company Makr Shakr, which may serve as much as 80 drinks per hour. The facility will employ 37 people and is predicted to draw 400 customers per day on weekends, with a projected 80,000-90,000 customers per 12 months.
Business Outlook
Andy Scanlon, CEO of Sandbox VR UK and Ireland, is optimistic in regards to the facility’s success. He expects to achieve 80,000-90,000 customers per 12 months and generate €3.5-4 million in sales in 12 months two. "Early indicators are that this will probably be our most successful launch ever," he said.
Target Market
Dublin is a "massive goal market" for Sandbox globally, with a large demography of consumers expected. "That’s because it isn’t only a gaming experience," Scanlon explained. "In the UK currently, 55 per cent of guests are male and 45 per cent are female. Our important age demographic is 25-35, but we get more people over 35 than under the age of 25, so it isn’t just young males as you would possibly expect."
Corporate Events and Future Plans
The facility can also be expected to draw corporations for post-work activities and team-building events. Scanlon plans to reinvest the cash generated in as much as nine other venues countrywide over the following five years, including two more in Dublin, in addition to locations in Belfast, Galway, and Cork.
